How to Submit a Borrower Defense Claim

You will first need to submit a claim through the borrower defense pageKeep in mind that if you have received and accepted a payment, you are still able to seek other available relief. You can also apply for loan forgiveness, even if you have already received a payment from the DeVry settlement.

Remember, you will not need to pay anything to receive a refund. Do not pay anyone that promises a refund for a fee. Your settlement check can be cashed or deposited without fees.

Am I Eligible?

In order to be eligible, you will need to meet all of the following conditions:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or associate’s degree program between January 1, 2008 and October 1, 2015.
  • Paid a minimum of $5,000 with cash, loans or military benefits.
  • You did not receive debt or loan forgiveness as part of the settlement.
  • Completed at least one class credit.
